  • The Ordinances of the Legislative Council of the Colony of Hongkong, commencing with the year 1844 / compiled for the Government of Hongkong by A.J. Leach.

v. 1 Ordinances no. 1 of 1844 to no.13 of 1864, together with regulations, rules and orders in force on the 31st October, 1890.

v. 2 Ordinances no. 1 of 1865 to no. 18 of 1873, together with regulations, rules and orders in force on the 31st December, 1890.

v. 3 Ordinances no. 1 of 1874 to no. 22 of 1884, together with regulations, rules and orders in force on the 31st December, 1890.

v. 4 Ordinances no. 1 of 1885 to no. 24 of 1887, together with regulations, rules and orders in force on the 31st March, 1891.

 

1901 edition

  • The Ordinances of Hongkong, prepared under the authority of the Statute Laws (Revised edition) Ordinance, 1900 / by John W. Carrington.

This revision of the laws is described as the 1901 edition of the Laws of Hong Kong.

This revision of the laws is described as the 1923 edition of the Laws of Hong Kong.

1937 edition

  • The Ordinances of Hong Kong, prepared under authority of Ordinance No. 51 of 1936 / edited by John Alexander Fraser.

The 1937 edition was authorised to comprise all ordinances in force up to 1st. Jan 1938. Three vols. only of the 1937 edition were published, containing material up to 1931 only. Drafts or proofs of further volumes were untraceable after World War II and the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong.

This revision of the laws is described both as the 1931 edition and as the 1937 edition of the Laws of Hong Kong. Each vol. of the ordinances was published contemporaneously with and is a companion vol. to the corresponding vol. of: The regulations of Hong Kong (1937 edition).

1950 edition

  • The Laws of Hong Kong, containing the ordinances enacted until and including the 1st day of September, 1950, and subsidiary legislation made thereunder, prepared under the authority of the Revised Edition of the Laws Ordinance, 1948 / by J.B. Griffin ... [et al.].

This revision of the laws is described as the 1950 edition of the Laws of Hong Kong.

1964 edition (last updated to 1989)

  • The Laws of Hong Kong, prepared under the authority of the Revised Edition of the Laws Ordinance, 1965 / by H. A. de Barros Botelho.

Contains all ordinances and subsidiary legislation (including legislation omitted from the Rev. ed., 1950) in force on the 1st day of January, 1965.

This revision of the laws is described as the 1964 edition of the Laws of Hong Kong. As further revisions of ordinances were published, they bore an edition designation for the year of last amendment. It is updated by annual reprints of amended ordinances, or by noting-up of amendments. The last year of updating is 1989.

The copy of this edition contained in the Historical Laws of Hong Kong Online therefore reflects the laws as last updated to 1989.
